Pipes - Materials
Most of my pipes are made of briar wood, which gives much satisfaction to the pipesmoker and its beautiful natural design makes the pipe even more preciuos.
The briar wood of my pipes comes directly from Sicily and Aeolian Islands particularly from Alicudi, whose nickname "Ericusa" is due to the rich erica vegetation which covers the entire island.
Erica is part of the islander history and life. It is commonly used to cover their shelters and to make pipes..
Sometimes I prefer to use olive wood which gives the pipe a pleasent taste suitable for strong dry tobaccos which then become lighter.
For the pipe stem I use methacrylate, synthetic amber or nacre.
